Market@3 April: Day's reportOld economy stocks opened firm and attracted strong buying. Cement stocks remained the star perfomers of the day. HLL, ITC hit the upper circuit and helped the sensex to post a smart gain. The software sector however opened dull and came under strong selling pressure. All top software stocks remained at the lower circuit for major part of the day. Reliance Industries, Zee Tele, Satyam Computers, Global Tele, and Infosys topped the volume charts accounting for nearly 49 per cent of total trading volume on the BSE. Reliance Industries volume touched a two-month high accounting for 19 per cent of total traded volume on the BSE. Sensex up 52 points at 5055, Nifty gains 3 points at 1531. Sensex
