Market@June 12: Day's report

The sentiment remained negative for a major part of the day. Selling pressure was evident in software counters. A large number of software stocks showed a negative close. However, Silverline and Digital Equipment showed a positive close.

The non-software segment also remained depressed and a large number of pivotals showed a negative close. Trading volumes were relatively low.

Himachal, Silverline, Satyam Comp, Zee Tele and Infosys topped the volume chart accounting for 53 per cent of the total trading volume on the BSE.

Sensex down 90 points at 4639, Nifty down 27 points at 1440.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.9 per cent
Tata Chem, Apollo Tyres, Cromton Greaves, Bausch & Lomb, Anco Com, Eupharma Lab, Arvind Mills, Fintech Com, Vashisti Det and Agro Dutch.

Losers: Between 12 per cent and 7.9 per cent
Zee Tele, Bombay Dyeing, BSES, Crest Com, Goldston Tech, Nath Seeds, Shyam Tele, Fujitsu, Gramophone, Colour Chips, Sandesh, UTI Bank, KLG Systel and Tata Info.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 5 per cent
