Bayer ABS Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 54.411 million for the quarter ended December 31, 1999 as against Rs 27.904 million for DQ 98. The sales for the period was Rs 600.905 million, an increase of 22.42 % over DQ 98 figures of Rs 490.852 million. Other income is Rs 4.21 million (DQ 98 Rs 3.607 million). The Board has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.50/- per share for the year 1999. |
Ciba Speciality's new plant commences commercial production |
Ciba Speciality Chemicals (India) Ltd has informed the BSE that its new Antioxidant plant at Santa Monica, Goa for manufacture of Irganox-1010 and Irganox-1076 (Additives) was recently commissioned in February 2000 and the commercial production and sale of the said additives have commenced. The new plant has a capacity of 2000 Tons per annum and the project cost was approximately Rs 200 million. This plant will cater to the growing Indian market. |

Videsh sanchar Nigam -Ltd has signed a MoU with indiainfo.com for a period of three years. After signing definitive agreements in due course, indiainfo.com will become the default homepage for all current and future VSNL subscribers. VSNL and indiainfo.com will promote a single integrated co-branded portal that will offer all indiainfo.com content, commerce, utilities and services to current and future VSNL Subscribers. As per the agreement, VSNL will have 30% stake in indiainfo.com and will also share the revenues generated by the portal as above to an extent of 20% with minimum commitments amounting to Rs 2010 million over the three years period. |

As per the scheme of arrangement approved by the Allahabad High Court the company has re-purchased 11 lakh fully paid equity shares of the company from PICUP at a price of Rs 19.50/- per share. The re-purchased shares have been extinguished and consequently the paid up share capital of the company stands reduced by Rs 11 million on this account.
As per the scheme of arrangement approved by the Allahabad High Court, the company has allotted 766,000 Redeemable preference shares of Rs 100/- each aggregating to Rs 76.60 million carrying no dividend rights to its foreign collaborator Phoenix Electric Co. Ltd, Japan. The allotment has been made by varying the terms of 7,660,000 shares equity shares of Rs 10/- each held by them and converting the same into redeemable Preference Shares.

Mico FY 99 Net Profit up by 51.40%, Revives buy-back |
Motor Industries Co. Ltd has announced a net profit of Rs 1057.70 million for the financial year ending December 31, 1999 as compared to Rs 698.60 million for the financial year ending December 31, 1998. The sales are up by 16.31 % at Rs 15099.80 million against Rs 12981.70 million in FY 98. Other income is at Rs 432.80 million (FY 98 Rs 322.60 million). The Board has decided to revive the buy-back of upto 200,000 equity shares of the company of the face value of rs 100/- each through "Tender Offer" from the existing shareholders, not exceeding 5.3 % of the existing paid up equity capital. The shares shall be bought back at Rs 4200/- per share. |
