Market@22 March: Day's report
Sensex up 68 points at 5201, Nifty gains 30 points at 1586.
Thanks to a smart recovery on Nasdaq, software stocks remained bullish for major part of the day. Infosys, and Wipro were the strongest. DSQ Software, SSI, and TV 18 too remained strong. Global Tele however dipped sharply in the last 15 minute of the trading, affecting other software stocks.
Among the pivotals, Reliance, SBI, ACC, and L&T remained firm. HLL showed a sharp dip. Meanwhile, Zee Tele, Satyam Computers, Global Tele, HFCL, and DSQ Software topped the volume charts on the BSE accounting for more than 60 per cent of the total traded volume.
