Market@May 12: Day's reportDespite a recovery on the Nasdaq, software stocks failed to show gains. After a firm opening, software stocks started showing weakness and the momentum gathered speed during the second half of the day. The Sensex is back to the June 1999 levels. Sensex closed 141 points down at 4110. Nifty closed 23 points lower at 1281. In an extremely bearish market, ITC and L&T managed to attract huge buying interest and managed to show a positive close. The trading volume remained low. Satyam, Infosys, Himachal, Zee and Silverline topped the volume chart accounting for 53 per cent of total trading volume on the BSE. BSE Sensex
