Market@May 22: Day's reportThe market remained extremely weak today. Software stocks opened with a downward gap as Nasdaq fell sharply on Friday. After a minor correction in the afternoon, there was a strong selling pressure in the second half. A large number of software stocks hit the lower circuits. For the first time in the last eleven months, the index closed below 4000-mark. The sentiment also affected non-software stocks. Sensex down 148 points at 3920. Nifty down 35 points at 1233. Meanwhile, trading volumes remained low. Satyam, Infosys, Himachal, SIlverline, and Zee Tele topped the volume chart accounting for 51 per cent of the total traded volume on the BSE. Sensex
