Market@March 28: Day's report

The software stocks opened strong and remained firm for a major part of the day. NIIT gained 10 per cent, whereas Himachal was up by 11 per cent.

Wipro, Zee and Satyam also remained firm for a major part of the day. Among the old economy stocks, Reliance, ITC, HLL, Ranbaxy, Tata Tea, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Cipla and BPCL showed impressive gains.

Sensex up 93 points at 3788. Nifty up 28 points at 1206.
