Market@March 29: Day's report

The software stocks remained under pressure for a major part of the day. While trading volume was low, Global and Himachal lost more than 8 per cent each. Infosys also dipped more than 6 per cent. Other stocks remained under pressure.

Meanwhile, the old economy counters showed a mixed trend. HLL, Gujarat Ambuja, BPCL, Tata Tea, L&T, SBI and ICICI gained smartly.

Sensex down 49 points at 3739. Nifty down 16 points at 1190.

Gujarat Ambuja, ICICI, Hotel Leela, Shree Rama, Creative Eye, Binani Ind, Bhartiya Int.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
