Tony D'Silva may head Star distribution

Shuchi Bansal

Tony D'Silva, former head of Modi Entertainment Network is tipped to join Star India as head of distribution.

MEN, which initially distributed ESPN in India, is now handling distribution for channels such as Hallmark and 10 Sports.

D'Silva is likely to take charge from Star's senior vice-president A Javed who was looking after Star India distribution ever since Arun Mohan's exit four months back.

D'Silva, who was working for Zee in London, apparently quit a couple of months back.

Star's spokesperson in Mumbai, however, refused to comment on the new appointment.

Star India seems to be on a restructuring drive for its top management.

D'Silva's appointment comes close on the heels of Ravina Raj Kohli taking over as president for Star's soon-to-be launched Hindi news channel.

Meanwhile, Devika Sharma who headed Channel V has also put in her papers and will be leaving the company by the end of the month.
