DCA takes possession of more TFL documents

The Department of Company Affairs has taken possession of additional documents from the chartered accountancy firm A F Ferguson involved in the Tata Finance Limited controversy.

The inspection of the documents pertaining to the finance company was likely to be completed shortly, Registrar of Companies (Mumbai) Vijayan Menon told reporters, after emerging out of the chartered accountancy firm's headquarters in south Mumbai late Tuesday night.

The DCA officials have been carrying out inspection since Monday and had already taken possession of some documents earlier.

The documents pertaining to TFL would be returned to the accountancy firm in 30-days as per provisions of the Company Act.

The inspection of documents follows search and seizure operations carried out according to section 234 of the Company Act.

Following reports of shredding of certain documents relating to TFL, DCA swung into action and began the investigations.
