JPC may submit scam report in monsoon session

The Joint Parliamentary Committee probing the stock scam is likely to submit its report during the monsoon session of Parliament, JPC chairman Prakash Mani Tripathi said on Wednesday.

"We are trying our best to submit the report during the monsoon session of Parliament. Ninety-nine per cent we will submit the report," he told reporters.

"Our effort is not to seek further extension," Tripathi added while replying to queries.

Stating that the process of writing the report has already started, he said the committee would require two to three more sittings to complete the probe.

The JPC, which was set up last year to probe the stock scam, was asked to investigate the Unit Trust of India fiasco as well and it has already been given three extensions.
