JPC could seek written deposition from FMThe Joint Parliamentary Committee probing the stock scam and the UTI scam involving the temporary freeze on US-64 may seek a written deposition from Finance Minister Jaswant Singh before presenting its final report during the winter session of Parliament. While the JPC is framing questions to be sent to the former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, its chairman Prakash Mani Tripathi did not rule out sending similar queries to the present Finance Minister Jaswant Singh seeking clarifications. When asked whether Yashwant Sinha would be the only person to whom the queries would be sent, Tripathi said: "It could also be Jaswant Singh." He said the report would positively be tabled during the winter session of Parliament. "The final report will be different from the one people saw in the press, " he said. Tripathi said certain aspects of JPC's interrogation may have been over-emphasised or overlooked and the final report would seek to remove these imbalances.
