MR> BHATT< What is going on at FTII? Why are younot accepting applications for 1997? Feroz Khan's nephew, Imran, a friend of mine visited the institute and said admissions were closed. I've also been in contact with the cinematographer Ashok Kumar who is on your academic council. It is confirmed, but why? Does it have anyting to do wiht the fact that your students are 'disruptive'?

Mahesh: The success of Bollywood and its cousin in Madras threatens to devour the regional movie centres. For example, the Bengal movie industry is a pale shadow of its former self. Does this bother you? What can be done to revive the regional movie centres?

Is it true that the Indian population is slowly beginning to push away the third rate standard of Hindi movies and instead demanding some quality? Y'know, Mr. Bhatt you have the potential to transform the industry, the scripts, the poor acting and the storylines. WHy don't you takeit upon yourself to change India's pathetic, fairytale image it has of itself? OR are you waiting for ABCL to do the job?

Which of the films you made is closest to your heart? Why? And if there is one film you made which, in retrospect, you would like to make differently, which would that film be and again, why?

You've done good stuff, so why do you keep going back and forth between what really gives you a kick and what really keeps your wallet packed?
