shree (Wed Jan 21 1998 1:30 IST)
Hello there Everybody
Jacob Thomas (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:50 IST)
Good evening sir, its a pleasure to have you here. Some years ago, the left was inimical towards the Congress. Today, it is the BJP. What has made the Congress more acceptable?
Rahul Karande (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:53 IST)
Hi Mr Raja, If the Congress party were to emerge as the second largest after the BJP, will you agree to the UF supporting it
Yogesh Jha (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:54 IST)
Sir, Will you answer be different if Sonia Gandhi were to lead the party?
sriram (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:57 IST)
Let Mr. Raja Speak
Mahesh Mehta (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:57 IST)
Hi Mr D Raja, Do you believe that the Sonia factor does not matter in these elections?
sriram (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:59 IST)
Mr.Raja how do view asian financial crises and their impact on India
arun (Wed Jan 21 1998 7:59 IST)
while the BJP has announced that Mr.vajpayee is their PM candidate. why is it that UNITED FRONT has not announced anybody's name? (noteven Mr.I.K.GUJRAL)
sriram (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:0 IST)
Hi! Shree how are you
Mahesh Mehta (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:1 IST)
Good evening Mr Raja, I hope I'm not too late for the chat:-) Opinion polls put the BJP just a little -- around 30-40 seats -- short of a majority, which means that it would have actually improved its tally in the 11th Lok Sabha. How do you explain that?
sriram (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:3 IST)
About Indian financial crises?
Jagdish (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:7 IST)
Mr Raja, Opinion polls also say that the UF will actually reduce its tally this time. Do you agree?
RR (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:9 IST)
Mr. Raja: I had hoped that with the Left participating in power at the center, the 50 % of the population which cannot take for granted education health or basic necessities, would get a champion. Yet the left seems exclusively bent on protecting the interests of the organized labour, who with their indirect subsidies, inefficient state supported enterprises take away what should have been spent on basic UNIVERSAL welfare activities. Are the poor orphans ?
Mohandeep (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:10 IST)
Sir, What do you think will be the structure of the 12th Lok Sabha?
Venkat (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:12 IST)
Mr. Raja, I don't see any gross root level communists leaders like Bheemi Reddy Narasimha Reddy, who won around 5-6 times MP seat on CPI-M, Bikshapathi and lot of others in 'Center-stage communist politcs', Unlike Hari Kishan Sing Surgeeths, Sitaram Yechuris(No communist voter knows who they are),why?
Santosh Shivan (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:13 IST)
Mr Raja: How good was CPI's first tryst with power at the Centre? Are your cadres satisfied about the performance of Indrajit Gupta and Chaturanan Mishra?
Mohandeep (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:20 IST)
Hello Mr Doraiswamy Do you foresee the Congress breaking up after the elections?
RR (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:23 IST)
Mr. Raja: What exactly is your party's objection to the Tata Airlines proposal ? Ideally they should not even have to seek Govt approval at all. Surely, the same policy should be uniformly applied to all ?! Or has your party succumbed to vested interests too ? Surely you see that the proposal is being opposed through corruption ?
D Shah (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:23 IST)
Hi sir, Coming to the CPI, do you think you have lived down your history of being pro-Congress?
Venkat (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:27 IST)
Mr. Raja can you explian as you said, how the new insurance policy benifits the rich and not the poor. For example a poor person who earns Rs30 per day spends it on insurance can get basic medical services throught the month(Forget about the Multinationals getting profits).
Shyla (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:31 IST)
Hi Mr Raja, What are the ministries you will insist on? What about finance?
RR (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:33 IST)
Mr. Re. your reply to Mira: Surely the left should suggest alternatives to privatization which make the enterprizes financially independent in order to free budgetory allocation where its needed most: things like primary eduaction and health?
Shyla (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:33 IST)
Hello Mr Raja, Will you then set the clock back on economic reforms?
Shyla (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:34 IST)
Dear Sir, These elections are different, in that no single issue has emerged so far. Why do you think this is so?
Maya Alah (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:36 IST)
Dear Mr Raja, How do you explain the retreat of communism globally?
Dghanu (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:37 IST)
Hello Comrade, And how do you explain why communism still has its pockets of influence in India?
Hira Nath (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:38 IST)
Mr Raja: One reason the UF was unpopular was that different partners spoke in different voices. How do you think that can be prevented if you came together once again?
Maria Olay (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:39 IST)
Mr Raja, How long do you give the 12th Lok Sabha?
RR (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:42 IST)
Mr Raja: Do you agree that the way society is evolving, it is no longer capitalist vs worker ? The consumer is now the numerically dominent section, and ownership/capital are dispersed..to include the working class..How do Indian communists plan to adapt to this change?
sundar (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:46 IST)
mr raja:How do you rate communist principals from right wing(BJP)
Venkat (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:46 IST)
Mr Raja, I am sure, all the people over here are striving( or at least wishing ) for the betterment of our toiling masses, But your age old anti-progressive idealogies and stubborn leftistic thinking is costing indian poor dearly.
sundar (Wed Jan 21 1998 8:58 IST)
Mr Raja: I don't think communist will get any gain in 12th lok saba because of UF partnership. What is the use of getting alliance with more than 13 parties without any regard to idealogy, principal and goal . what do you think about this?
sundar (Wed Jan 21 1998 9:2 IST)
Mr raja: I agree that about churchil. But we should not forget they are reson to unite india ,otherwise we would have been with more smaller countries than one united INDIA
raj (Wed Jan 21 1998 9:7 IST)
Mr. Raja what is ur opinion abbout MR BASU publicaly stating that refusal to PMship was the historic blunder
