The Suresh Kalmadi ChatSURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:16:14 1997 IST):
Nanidini: It caught the whole party by surprise. And many of us are still reeling under the decision. But may be he has aplan. Disgusted! (Mon Apr 7 20:16:19 1997 IST):
How come your mentor Sharad Pawar did not know what was happening? He is losing respect because of his constantly vaccilating stand? One day, he said he was stunned by what had happened ("Do you think I would have been in Pune if I knew what was happening?") and the next day he is licking Kesri's feet. What's happening with him? God Save India (Mon Apr 7 20:16:29 1997 IST):
The numbers, as Rediff informed us, just don't add up. How do you hope to get
272 people considering that you have only 143 people now? ajai kumar (Mon Apr 7 20:16:42 1997 IST):
KALMADI JI Nandini (Mon Apr 7 20:16:47 1997 IST):
Fine Kalmadiji. But how would you justify Kesri's action? Maneckchand (Mon Apr 7 20:17:02 1997 IST):
MR KALMADI: I CANNOT BELIEVE IT ---THE WHOLE OF CONGRESS DOES NOT KNOW WHAT KESRI'S PLANS ARE AND YOU ARE ALL BLINDLY FOLLOWING HIM? DON'T YOU FEAR THAT THIS MIGHT BE THE END OF YOUR POLITICAL CAREER'S BECAUSE OF YOUR BLIND FAITH IN YOUR PRESIDENT??? God Save India (Mon Apr 7 20:18:07 1997 IST):
How are you going to rectify the damage done to India internationally by your party's juvenile stand? ravi (Mon Apr 7 20:18:48 1997 IST):
Kesri as PM ??? Does he honestly believe he has what
it takes to run this country ? We need young blood
When will this happen ?? It is sickening to see old
coots like Kesri gunning for power purely to be known
as a prime minister in his liefetime .. What a joke ..
Comments ... SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:19:10 1997 IST):
Ravi: The pre alliance or the post alliance is always in context of who forms the government first. At that time a pre poll alliance is considered as a first choice. If that does not happen then a post poll alliance is considered for stability and to avoid fresh elections. Imran Khan (Mon Apr 7 20:19:14 1997 IST):
MrKalmadi: What do you think will be the fate of Phoolan Devi? ajai kumar (Mon Apr 7 20:20:06 1997 IST):
KALMADI JI,
AT THIS CRUCIAL JUNCTURE ARE WE HEADING TOWARDS SOAP OPERA OR A SERIOUS AND CALCULATED COMEBACK OF CONGRESS WITH SUPPORT OF...........?????? ( THE GUESSING NO. GAME) Disgusted! (Mon Apr 7 20:20:34 1997 IST):
Thank you, Mr Kalmadi. But how about being a little more specific- for instance, who
are the people who feel there is a shortcut? And what is this shortcut they are talking
about? And could you elaborate on, to quote what you said, "The younger leadership in
the party must be thrown up." SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:21:23 1997 IST):
Manekchand: The congress party can have temporary setbacks. But it still remains the only party which is spread all over the country and it represents the weaker sections of society. You win some, you lose some elections. But we are there to stay. Tarini (Mon Apr 7 20:22:55 1997 IST):
Keeping the present context in mind, what are Narasimha Rao's plans? Disgusted! (Mon Apr 7 20:23:44 1997 IST):
And, pray, what happens to the budget? SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:23:46 1997 IST):
Manekchand: There is no question of blind faith. As I said we are waiting for him to give us a gameplan at this stage. There are still four days to go. There is hard bargaining going between the UF and the Congress. There is a dialogue open by many people. We do not at this stage want to say anything which would be deterimental to the interest of the party. Vinod Mehta (Mon Apr 7 20:24:25 1997 IST):
Don't you think Kesri's action has been against the nation's interests. We, the Indians settled in the west, are afraid that Congress is opportunist and power hungry. Will the younger generation leaders of the Congress like be able to save the 110 year old party from the 80-plus leadership? ravi (Mon Apr 7 20:24:54 1997 IST):
Mr. Kamladi, I believe that post election alliances should not be recognised only pre
election alliances should. It breeds power brokering .I believe the former is a violation of the peoples mandate ..
What do you think ? SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:25:27 1997 IST):
Tarini: Mr Narasimha Rao is quite active, he is keeping in touch with all of us in the party and parliament. And many of us look for his guidance on many issues. Disgusted! (Mon Apr 7 20:25:32 1997 IST):
Do you guys know what the hell you want? The only thing that's clear in this whole stinking scenario is that Kersi wants to become PM, come what may! Tarini (Mon Apr 7 20:27:08 1997 IST):
WHAT IS MR NARASIMHA RAO DOING TO RESOLVE THE PRESENT SCENARIO? AFTER ALL, IT WAS ON HIS ASSURANCE AS PARTY PRESIDENT THAT THE UF CAME TO POWER! SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:27:24 1997 IST):
Vinod Mehta: WEll, there is the organisation elections to the All India congress Committee. The membership drive is over and the election process has started. I am confident of new faces and younger leadership at the helm of the party affairs after elections. God Save India (Mon Apr 7 20:27:54 1997 IST):
Just out of curiousity, why is everyone running after V P Singh? Imran Khan (Mon Apr 7 20:28:02 1997 IST):
Mr Kalmadi: What about the budget reforms proposed by Mr Chidambaram????If the Congress comes to power will the Congress follow the budget? ravi (Mon Apr 7 20:28:13 1997 IST):
Mr. Kamladi, Is Sonia Gandhi going to play a role in this
situation ? God Save India (Mon Apr 7 20:28:55 1997 IST):
What happens to Kesri if he loses his bid at PM-ship? SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:29:31 1997 IST):
Tarini: It is not at his assurance. It is at the assurance of the CWC to support the UF from outside. Latter the same CWC took a decision to support the UF on a conditional basis. And today the same CWC has withdrawn the support. So, why blame Rao? Tarini (Mon Apr 7 20:30:40 1997 IST):
Will there be a split in the congress? Phoolan Devi (Mon Apr 7 20:30:40 1997 IST):
Namaste Bhaiya kaise ho........tume baataya nahin ki tum apni bahan ki raksha karne ke liye kya karoge? SURESH KALMADI (Mon Apr 7 20:31:40 1997 IST):
God Save India: Wait and watch. See what happens.
RAVI: Sonia Gandhi is a person whom the entire party respects. So far she has shown no signs of playing any role in party matters. Disgusted! (Mon Apr 7 20:32:26 1997 IST):
How come your mentor Sharad Pawar did not know what was happening? He is losing
respect because of his constantly vaccilating stand? One day, he said he was stunned by
what had happened ("Do you think I would have been in Pune if I knew what was
happening?") and the next day he is licking Kesri's feet. What's happening with him? Disgusted! (Mon Apr 7 20:32:46 1997 IST):
And, pray, what happens to the budget?
