Mr RSD>> I read somewhere that this year, 100 one day internationals have already been played. India has been playing continuously from the World Cup on, and a tour of SA and Windies still to come. Isn't this overkill? Is the board being rather greedy for money, at the risk of burning out the players?

RSD, Indian cricket has so much at stake, Indian players have so much pressure on them to (out)perform nowadays, how do u feell, being at the helm at BCCI ? Also, are Players are in a much difficult situation to play than say 10 years ago ?

steel: I think it was my predecessor and friend Mr. I S Bindra who said that our cricketers should be like tennis players playing all the years round. BCCI has already geared up to spend a lot more money on the domestic tournaments and sponsorship is just beginning at the first class level of cricket. We will welcome the corporate sector to be associated at domestic level of cricket because there is always room to improve the facilities and the financial security of a first class cricketer.

Murali: Yes, I agree that the contempt of pressure on a present day cricketer is immense. AS it would be in any walk of life. As the BCCI president, I appreciat and understand the pressures on our players. But they have to stand up to it. But if there is anything that they want us the administrators to do. I'm sure we will response to it as far as possible.

Hi everyone RSD, it has been said for long that Ranji trophy matches should be played on more competitive (as opposed to lifeless) pitches. What is your opinion on this?

handle: I agree that a test player is more suited to pick a test team. But at the same time, if someone has not played test cricket, it cannot be a disqualification to be a national selector. Even in England today and Australia just a couple of years ago did not have all the members of their selection committee as test players.

RSD, talking on youth teams from India going out on International exposure, I , on behalf of the Singapore Cricket Association suggest you look into sending teams to Singapore also, as both countries stand to benefit.

Rajitha: If you look at the International calendar, there is a tremendous demand for exchange of tours between test playing countries. And obviously, one has to respond to it. I do understand that this high frequency will certainly put limitations on the durability of present day cricketers. But then the advantage is that you play much more cricket when you are fit and young, then one used to play say five or ten years ago. It has it's advantages and disadvantages. But the speed of modern day demand of cricket is such that there is very little which can be done. But I'm sure if our players feel that we should look in to the aspect of too much cricket BCCI will look in to it.

Mr. Dungarpur, how many cricket coaching centres do we have in India...on the lines of the MRF Pace Foundation, supported by the BCCI.

Murali: It will be nice for junior Indian teams to tour Singapore, but I doubt the standard of junior cricket in Singapore to give our players sort of competition that we would expect them from test playing countries. But the BCCI is keen to give as much assistance as possible to Singapore and other associate members of the Asian cricket council to play against India. It would be a wonderful idea if young Singapore team visit us here.

Indian cricket board should consider not to tarvel all players in same plane when they travel if in case some thing tragic happen(i wish never) but we should be care ful one football team in africa died

Mr. Dungarpur, I have a request: Please consider having bouncy pitches which encourage fast bowling for our domestic matches. Having been a fast-medium bowler yourself, you surely know how our pitches are primarily responsible for us not having a Waqar or an Ambrose.

Shri RSD, now that Lata Mangeshkar has lost her voice (golden or otherwise..) how are things between the two of you??

what do you think about Pak blooding test players at such young ages? Will R S Sodhi, our Under-15 captain be picked for his state Ranji team?

SDS: As for Australia it's always been difficult for them to tour India because our cricket seasons are the same. But they are coming next season to play three test series. International calendars are drawn much in advance and the BCCI will do everything in it's power to organise the future to and fro visits between these two countries in more balanced. AS for tour of England, I think a three test series is not such a bad idea because then we can play against them every four years. Instead of a gap of seven and eight years.

Rajji, I agree with you that the junior Spore team is no match for the Indian juniors. What I wanted to say was the Spore national team can play a series of games againts say the Under 19 Indian team... That way, we also benefit, and so will the young Indian boys..

Hotu: The BCCI is not supporting any of the pace academys nor have these academys approached board to finance them. The sports authority of India is financing few other centres. The answer to all these to my mind will be to established a national academy totally owned and financed and control by the BCCI on the line of the Austrailan acandemy at Adelaide at South Australia.

Mr. Dungarpur, going with Mr. SDS's question, the Indian team is hardly known to perform overseas. I can't remember when we last won a series abroad. It all boils to down to team selection and the non-cricketing elements that go with it. Why would any country want a bunch of nom-performers. A handful of celebrities don't make a team? Your comments, Mr. Dungarpur, Sir!

Shri RSD, please do your utmost to start a regular 5-match test-series (with an appropriate trophy) between India and Pakistan. Why should Eng and Aus alone have such a great and regular rivalry? Every other fixture is secondary for them. Our test series with Pak should enjoy the same commitment/patronage. By the way, may I suggest the name "Kapil-Imran trophy" for this ashes-like series???
