CBI sleuths visit BCCI office
Board of Control for Cricket in India officials in Bombay are tight-lipped about a visit by sleuths from the Central Bureau of Investigation to their office on Monday.
BCCI executive secretary Sharad Diwadkar called it a "courtesy call".
He said: "We invited them [the CBI officers,
headed by Deputy Superintendent Nikhil Duggal] to have lunch
at the CCI [Cricket Club of India].
"However, they will be visiting the BCCI office in a
couple of days before their departure to Delhi," Diwadkar
added.
Two CBI officers arrived in Bombay on Sunday to visit the
BCCI office [located in the Northern Wing of the Brabourne
stadium] to gather information on the whereabouts of a
bookie, who was said to be involved in the match-fixing scandal, as also to prepare a deatailed study about telecast rights sold by the BCCI.
Asked what exactly transpired during the lunch meeting, Diwadkar said: "We did not discuss anything as such with the
two gentlemen from the CBI, but they have assured me that they
would be visiting our office soon."
