England U-19 take first innings lead
After taking a vital 31-run first innings lead, England under-19 made 13 for no loss in their second knock at close on the second day of the third Test against India at the County Ground in Northampton.
England, overnight 331 for seven could add only ten runs before they were bowled out for 341 and in reply India U-19 made 310.
At one stage yesterday, India were in dire strait having lost 3 wickets with only 65 runs on board but a 115-run fourth wicket partnership between D A Chougule (62) and S Raina (63) pulled them out of the woods.
Towards the fag end, Udit Patel scored up 23 off 27 balls and Timil Patel remained not out on 44.
For the hosts, McMahon captured 4 for 47 and Malik 3 for 75.
In their second innings, B M Shafayat, who had scored 118 in the first innings, remained unbeaten on 12 along with Pettini who was yet to open his account.
