Ganguly pleased with team performance

India's captain Sourav Ganguly praised his team's all round performance after they beat the West Indies by seven wickets in the third match of their one-day international series on Wednesday.
After the first two matches in the five-match series had been washed out in Jamaica without a ball being bowled, the visitors now head to Trinidad needing just one win from the two contests being played there this weekend to clinch the series.
"It was a good overall performance and we did well in all departments of the game," Ganguly said. "When you play that way, more often than not, you are going to win."
Ganguly's decision to bowl on winning the toss had initially surprised most observers but his bowlers justified the call by skittling out the home side for a paltry 186 in just 44.5 overs.
"The decision to bowl first was made due to a combination of several things -- they played only three frontline bowlers, the wicket had a bit of juice in it in the morning, and we had seven batsmen," Ganguly said.
The West Indies went into the match with just three frontline seamers in Mervyn Dillon, Cameron Cuffy and Corey Collymore and looked short of resources to defend a small total as man of the match Dinesh Mongia led the charge with a 113-ball 74.
"Dinesh did very well coming in at number three," Ganguly said.
KEY WICKETS
The Indian skipper, who himself scored a patient 41 while opening the batting with Virender Sehwag (21), also heaped praise on debutant paceman Tinu Yohannan who picked up three key wickets for 33 runs.
"Tinu bowled pretty well. He hadn't played much cricket for the last two months and it's good to see him hit the length when he came on to bowl. The wicket had a bit of carry in the morning and he used the conditions well," Ganguly said.
Coach John Wright added: "It's good for us that someone like Tinu comes in and puts up a good performance in the first chance he gets.
"He's been working really hard in the nets and it's great to see him do well when he got the opportunity."
Yohannan, whose only game on the tour so far had been a three-day match against a Busta XI side at St. Lucia last month, was included in place of left-arm paceman Ashish Nehra.
The Indians also went into the game without Vangipurappu Laxman -- who scored 474 runs in the Test series -- in order to pack the side with young one-day specialists.
"The youngsters certainly add energy to the team," Wright said. "If you look down the order it's the best fielding side we've put out in years."
India lost the recent five-Test series 2-1.
