- Kevin Pietersen (79 off 37 balls) posted his highest ever score, bettering his 34 on debut against Australia at Rose Bowl in June 2005.

- Pietersen equalled Paul Collingwood's 79 off 41 balls against West Indies at The Oval in June. Both now share the record for the highest individual innings for England.

- Pietersen's 27-ball half-century is the fastest for England, bettering Collingwood's 29-ball fifty against West Indies at The Oval.

- Pietersen and Collingwood put on 100 runs for the fourth wicket, which is England's first century partnership in Twenty20 Internationals. The stand is also the best for the fourth wicket in Twenty20 Internationals, eclipsing the 54 between Hamilton Masakadza and Shaun Williams for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh at Khulna in November 2006.

- Elton Chigumbura (4/31) became the first bowler from Zimbabwe to claim four wickets in an innings.

- The 74-run stand between Vusi Sibanda and Brendon Taylor is Zimbabwe's best for the first wicket.
