Remember the song Ek ladkee ko dekha to aisa laga from the blockbuster movie 1942 - A Love Story?

The Bharatiya Janata Party has now tweaked it to woo voters. So don't be surprised if you hear Atalji ko dekha to aisa laga blaring out of a loudspeaker near your home.

The song is a part of three sets of CDs and cassettes -- Mahashakti Bharat - Shaktishali Bhajapa, Kamal Khil Gaya and Bhajapa Laher -- that BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu released in New Delhi on Friday.

As part of its campaign, the BJP will circulate 100,000 copies all over the country.

Among the movies from which songs have been tweaked are Lagaan and Koi Mil Gaya.

A song from the film Baghban, starring Amitabh Bachchan, has been parodied to target Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

"The lyrics of Mahashakti Bharat - Shaktishali Bhajapa are extensively based on the salient points of the party's vision document, which highlights the roadmap for making India a superpower," Naidu said.

The songs will appeal to the common man and convey the party's vision in a simple and effective manner, he said.

Popular playback singers, including Sudesh Bhosle, Vinod Rathore, Rahul Seth, Munna Aziz, Anuradha Podwal, Sadhana Sargam and Sanjeevani, Naidu said, have sung the songs, which were recorded at a Mumbai studio.

Naidu and BJP general secretary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi were among those to provide inputs for the lyrics.

"There is a wave for BJP and we want to further capitalise on it," Naidu said.
