Naseer was Fardeen's regular supplierRediff Entertainment Bureau The Narcotics Control Bureau formally arrested Hindi film actor Fardeen Khan at 2130 IST on Saturday on a charge of possessing narcotic drugs. A spokesman of the NCB, Bombay, said Khan, drug peddler Naseer and another drug trafficker were nabbed at Juhu Vile Parle Development Scheme, a Bombay suburb. They have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Pyschotropic Substances Act after intensive interrogation that lasted the entire day. NCB Zonal Director Ajay Ubale told reporters that Khan came in a silver-grey Opel Astra and was to withdraw money. And that the NCB seized 9 grammes of cocaine from them. An NCB officer told rediff.com that a proper panchnama was made when they arrested Naseer as he was caught delivering cocaine to Khan, thus making it impossible for him to deny the charges. He also adds that Naseer was Fardeen's regular supplier. What's more, the actor has confessed to taking the drug regularly. NCB officials pointed out that up to 125 mg of cocaine is considered a small quantity as per the law. The quantity found in the possession of the accused exceeds this amount. And thus comes under the definition of commercial quantity. Anyone in possession of drugs over 26 gm can be considered for punishment up to 10 years in jail. Sources say that the current price in the Indian market for cocaine is Rs 20 lakh [Rs 2 million] per kilogramme. The officials said that investigations are on and the accused will be produced on Sunday at 1100 IST before the holiday magistrate at the Esplanade court near Azad Maidan.
