Pivotals take a dip; Nifty down 26 points to 940.15

Pivotals declined moderately on speculative selling pressure on the National Stock Exchange today.

Mirroring the depressed sentiment, the S&P CNX Nifty Index declined by 26.05 to 940.15 points while the CNX Nifty Junior index dipped by 30.20 points to 1662.30 points.

The S&P CNX Defty also eased by 21.25 points to 766.45 points while the S&P CNX 500 index moved down by 18.46 points to 655.42 points. The CNX Midcap 200 index too was down by 10.90 points at 578.82 points.

The total turnover, inolving 68.99 million shares in 247,944 trades, was Rs 18.71 billion while the debenture turnover was Rs 4.87 million.

Top Nifty gainers were: IPCL which shot up by 8.02 per cent to Rs 77.45, P&G by 3.53 per cent to Rs 908, NIIT by 1.47 per cent to Rs 2178.50, Hero Honda by 1.19 per cent to Rs 597 and Nestle 0.59 per cent to Rs 517.05.

The top losers were: Grasim which declined by 8 per cent to Rs 161, Colgate 7.08 per cent to Rs 164, HDFC Bank 6.84 per cent to Rs 56.55, Telco 6.56 per cent to Rs 198 and TVS Suzuki 6.13 per cent to Rs 537.
