Bulls flex muscles a little; Nifty crawls up ten points to 970.25
Pivotals gained moderately at the National Stock Exchange on good buying support from bull operators and institutional investors today. Reflecting the bullish phase, the S&P CNX Nifty opened on a positive note at 965.70 points, touched the day's high of 972.75 points, fell to the day's low of 962.35 before closing at 970.25 points, showing a net gain of 10.20 points as against the previous close of 960.05 points. The CNX Nifty Junior index gained smartly by 21.20 points to 1737.75 points from the previous close of 1716.55 points. The S&P CNX Defty closed higher by 8.55 points to 791.95 points as against the previous close of 783.40 points. The S&P CNX-500 and CNX Midcap-200 ended higher by 7.17 and 6.77 points to 674.11 points and 599.12 points as against the previous close of 666.94 and 592.35 points respectively. Total turnover on the NSE reported during the day was Rs 22.55 billion from 81.69 million shares in 286,757 trades. Debenture value stood at Rs 2.69 million. Today, 529 securities advanced, 575 declined, 115 remained unchanged while 69 securities hit their price bands. UNI
