Satyam, SBI, Pentafour, Reliance post major gains; Nifty rises 8.6 points to 1160.20Pivotals gained further at the National Stock Exchange on good buying support from institutional investors today. Reflecting the firm trend, the S&P CNX Nifty index opened at 1148.05 points, touched the day's high of 1164.20 points, a low of 1147.40 points before closing at 1160.20 points, showing a net gain of 8.60 points from the previous close of 1151.60 points. The S&P CNX Nifty Junior closed higher by 14.30 points to 2004.45 points as against the previous close of 1990.15 points. The S&P CNX Defty rose by 6.75 points to 940.35 points from the previous close of 933.60 points. The S&P CNX 500 and CNX- Midcap-200 went up by 5.09 and 5.69 points to 788.08 and 678.43 as against the previous close of 782.08 and 678.43 points respectively. Total turnover on the NSE reported during the day was Rs 21.35 billion which came from a trading of 92.41 million shares in 309,781 trades. Debentures traded were valued at Rs 4.83 million. Today, 502 securities advanced, 508 declined, 119 remained unchanged and 60 securities hit their price bands today. Satyam Computers posted the highest turnover of Rs 2.67 billion, followed by SBI Rs 2.53 billion, Pentafour Software Rs 2.35 billion and Reliance Rs 2.26 billion. Other actively traded counters were ITC (Rs 2.26 billion), Zee Telesystems (Rs 769 million), L&T (Rs 629.1 million), Tisco (Rs 613.5 million), BPL (Rs 531.6 million), Silverline (Rs 416.4 million), MTNL (Rs 414.1 million), Tata Tea (Rs 409.6 million), Ranbaxy (Rs 373.1 million), ACC (Rs 353.5 million), Telco (Rs 319 million), Digital Equipment (Rs 279 million), HCL-HP (Rs 246.7 million), Rolta (Rs 235.1 million), Hindustan Lever (Rs 185.2 million), Infosys Technologies (Rs 150.2 million), Square D Software (Rs 149.9 million), Raymond (Rs 106.5 million), Hindustan Petroleum (Rs 106.3 million) and Amara Raja Batteries (Rs 94.1 million). The top five gainers were P&G Rs 1094.60 (Rs 1013.50), Tata Power Rs 84.40 (Rs 78.15), Arvind Mills Rs 35.75 (Rs 33.60), Indian Rayon Rs 95.30 (Rs 90), Smithkline Beecham Rs 600 (Rs 570). The losers were ITC Rs 1066 (Rs 1116.90), Grasim Rs 172.55 (Rs 178.10), Bajaj Auto Rs 568.10 (Rs 580), Reliance Capital Rs 34.50 (Rs 35.20) and HDFC Rs 2273.10 (Rs 2315.95). UNI
