BPO firm WNS in spread modeBS Corporate Bureau World Network Services, the British Airways and Warburg Pincus-promoted business process outsourcing company, is to foray into the retail financial services industry and further expand its insurance sector business with a view to develop business opportunities beyond the airline industry. The company is also planning to tap the US market in its new initiatives to become a broad-based BPO player, said Siraj Irani, senior vice-president, WNS. The company's range of activities includes revenue accounting, customer relationship management, loyalty program support, account payable and receivables management and data analysis and reporting. As part of its new thrust the company has made two key appointments with David Tibble joining the company as executive chairman and Neeraj Bhargava as president - client relations and business development. Irani said "the recent initiatives are aimed at boosting sales through new business development activities and marketing efforts while at the same time maintaining strong client relationships." The company has set its eyes on the large US BPO market and has chalked out a strategy for becoming one of the leading offshore BPO player in the country. The company has also set out on a huge brand building exercise so as to create a global recognition for the WNS brand as part of its overall game plan. WNS already has a strong presence in the UK market, and a well established delivery base in India, which takes care of its offshore activities. In India, WNS has offices in Vikhroli in Mumbai and Pune with over 1,500 trained professionals functioning out of these two centres. While the company's largest client is British Airways, it also provides offshore services to other worldwide airline players. WNS was initially a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways. In April 2002, Warburg Pincus, a leading global private equity investor acquired a 70 per cent majority stake in the company. ALSO READ:
