Twelve years ago, while playing a computer game, I remember "driving" a Lamborghini. Even in the course of the game, the car had looked absolutely stunning. And now it has finally hit Indian roads.

Now, Indian road conditions may not be particularly kind to these high-end cars - but thankfully that hasn't stopped luxury car manufacturers from bringing their stunning cars to the country to cater to Indian car enthusiasts. So, besides their technical USPs, let's take a peek at some of their unique features.

Lamborghini

Only rarely does one see a car on Indian roads that can actually take your breath away. But the Lamborghini Murcielago does exactly that. High on speed, power, performance and price, of course, the Murcielago is an absolute astonishing car.

The Rs 1.8 crore (Rs 18 million) Lamborghini Murcielago has a rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees and the side mirrors fold in to increase aerodynamics and side scoops that automatically open to the needed size to let in just the right amount of air needed to cool its engine. Lamborghini has two other models, the Gallardo and Gallardo Spyder that cost Rs 1.6 crore (Rs 16 million) and Rs 3 crore (Rs 30 million)  respectively.

Porsche

Porsche with its three models was one of the first super luxury cars to enter the Indian market and has several distinctive features. Priced at Rs 75 lakh, the Porsche Carrera, for instance, is unique in its own way.

While in most other cars the boot space is at the back with the engine in front, Porsche Carrera runs in the opposite direction.

In other words, it has the engine at the back while boot space is in the front. In addition, Carrera has electric seats and a hood that takes 20 seconds to flip. The car has a top speed of about 250 kmph and astonishes one with its looks.

Porsche 911 Boxster has another unique function. In this car, available at Rs 67 lakh, you can actually adjust the height of the car according to the condition of the roads. There is a button by which you can elevate or lower the suspension.

Audi

Audi has a unique connection with Indian people. Since former Ravi Shastri was awarded an Audi in 1985 for his superb performance in one of the cricket tournaments that he played, the Audi has remained one of the most-sought after cars.

Audi A4, A6 and A8 are the three models available in the country. The A8 is the most expensive and costs around Rs 60 lakh. It comes with an option of air-conditioned seats and has a MMI system through which one can actually operate four things at a time including listening to music and car navigation system.

Audi is the only car that is 100 per cent secure against corrosion. Along with other precautionary measures, the full-body zinc coating has proved to be very effective in preventing rust and corrosion perforation.

If these things aren't enough to entice you, then maybe some other technical specifications might - like the fact that you can reach a speed of 100 in four seconds should. Four seconds?

Yes, that's how much time the Lamborghini takes to clock 100 on the milometer. That's less than the time one would take to pronounce the name of the car!
