Third time lucky?

Komal Nahta

Vashu Bhagnani's Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa might be a dud at the BO. But Abhishek Bachchan's stock is high.

His third release, Raj Kanwar's Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke is now eagerly awaited by the trade. Industry buzz bills Dhaai Akshar... as Abhishek's true launch pad.

Refugee was not a sensible one. As for Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa, it had new director A Muthu and less-than-noteworthy performances from the rest of the cast.

Moral: It isn't Abhishek's failure.

More heartening news: Abhishek has been received well by audiences everywhere. Which could be why Dhaai Akshar... is slated to lift Abhishek's popularity and catapult him into the big league.

Abhishek is now working on Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai and Shararat, both directed by newcomers Goldie Behl and Gurudev Bhalla.

Come September 29, when Dhaai Akshar... releases, we'll know whether Bachchan Jr is third time lucky!
