Sadhu says BJP will pay a price for turnaround

Many sadhus and priests in Ayodhya have expressed surprise over the recent statement of Union Home Minister Lal Kishinchand Advani on the Ayodhya issue, and termed it unfortunate.

The sadhus were of the view that the Bharatiya Janata Party, which rode to power on issues like Ayodhya, Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code, could not ignore taking action on these.

The Hanumangarhi temple's Mahant Ramdas said if the BJP put Advani's statement into practice, it would be an indicator of the changed intentions of the party and it should pay dearly for that.

Advani, at the BJP's national executive held on April 11 and 12, had appealed for adopting a fresh viewpoint on Ayodhya, Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code.

Sant Ramdas said the BJP had promised construction of Ram temple if the party came to power in the state as well as the Centre.

He urged Vishwa Hindu Parishad's working president Ashok Singhal to take Advani's statement seriously.
