Two-time BJP MP Rajendra Agnihotri managed to make it thrice in a row, defeating the SP's Hargovind Kushwaha by 29,000 votes. S S Bundela, who last won the seat for the Congress in 1984, came fourth, with 114,374 votes, behind the BSP's Chhanga Prasad Sahu who took away 130,281 votes.
