CBI to probe Dawood's mother's passport caseThe Central Bureau of Investigation will probe the passport case of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's mother and the helicopter case against Romesh Sharma, Ibrahim's alleged aide. Deputy Inspector General Neeraj Kumar will head the team, Bureau sources said. Documents relating to the two cases, till now handled by the Delhi police, have been handed over to Kumar's special task force. Dawood's mother had fled India soon after the Bombay blasts. He is the main suspect in the case. The Delhi police had registered charges against Romesh Sharma on a Bombay-based businessman's complaint that Sharma cheated him. Sources said the Bureau had already gathered a lot of information about Sharma, which led to the registration of various other cases against him. The inter-departmental team monitoring the 14 cases against Sharma will be headed by R N Kaul. UNI
