BJP retains Agra East seatJagan Prasad Garg of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Agra East assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh, beating his Congress rival Govind Agarwal by 4,772 votes in a multi-cornered contest. The BJP retains the seat. A total of 14 candidates were in the fray. Garg polled 34,586 votes while Agarwal got 29,814. Ramesh Babu Khushwaha (Bahujan Samaj Party) finished third. UNI |
