Delhi CM's supporters storm BJP office following rumours that he quit

E-Mail this report to a friend

Hundreds of Sahib Singh Verma's supporters today laid siege to the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in New Delhi following rumours that the chief minister had resigned.

BJP president Shashikant 'Kushabhau' Thakre, who was virtually gheraoed by agitated party workers, had a difficult time explaining to them that no such thing had happened.

Since the morning the rumour that the CM, bowing to the demands of the party leadership, had resigned made the rounds of the capital.

Thakre then came out of his office to soothe frayed tempers, by denying the rumours. He then left for a meeting with the prime minister.
