BJP refuses to 'budge an inch' on Bhagwat, Fernandes
The Bharatiya Janata Party tonight categorically rejected the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's demands, saying it would not budge an inch on the Bhagwat-Fernandes issue. The party said, "The real issue is different and will come out in future." Reacting to AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha's stand that her party's continuance in the government would depend on its response to three demands, including dismissal of Defence Minister George Fernandes, spokesman M Venkaiah Naidu said, "We will not budge an inch." About the government's fate, Naidu said, "We are here to stay. We have enough options and there is no question of any compromise on the issue of the security of the country." UNI |
