Extensive use of electronic voting machines in GoaThe Election Commission today declared that electronic voting machines would be used extensively in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the two constituencies of Panaji and Mormugao in Goa. Chief Electoral Officer Kewal Sharma said the commission had made adequate arrangements for electronic voting in the state where the polling is scheduled for September 5. EVMs were used successfully during assembly polls in Goa in May-June. Sharma said enough precautions were being taken to ensure smooth voting in the state. Sharma has also directed Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro not to make any policy pronouncements in his speech on the Independence Day. UNI
