Five of a family killed in AP blastFive members of a family, including a woman and three children, were killed when Naxalites of the banned People's War Group exploded an improvised devise in the house of a ruling Telugu Desam Party leader at Bashirabad in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh. A senior district police officer told UNI that a 38-year-old tailor, Narayana, his wife Chandrakala and three children -- Antosh (15), Sapna (10) and Sai Kiran (two) -- tenants of the house owned by Mandal Praja Parishad Party president Gopikishen died in the blast. The house suffered extensive damage. In other incidents of arson and violence, extremists stopped Amaravathi Express at Chelima railway station in Kurnool district and set ablaze its engine. The militants also set fire to the records and furniture in the station master's office at Tallapadu railway station in Nizamabad district late Wednesday night. Naxalites have given a call for a two-day bandh from Wednesday in protest against the killing of three top PWG leaders, including central committee member Nalla Adi Reddy, in an encounter in Karimnagar district earlier this month.
