Rane sworn inThe 48-member Narayan Rane ministry of the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance in Maharashtra was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Dr P C Alexander on the lawns of Raj Bhavan in Bombay today. At an austere ceremony, they took oath in the presence of a host of political leaders including Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, who removed Manohar Joshi from the chief ministership on Saturday. The new cabinet ministers are Sudhir Sacchidanand Mungetiwar and Vishnu Rama Sarva while the new ministers of state are Kalidas Nilkhant Kolambkar, Babanrao Lahurao Pandit, Manisha Manohar Nimkar, Uttamprakash Baburao Khandare and Udayan Raje-Bhosale. Among the others present on the occasion were Manohar Joshi, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Pramod Mahajan, Union Minister of State for Railways Ram Naik and Rajya Sabha member Pritish Nandy.
