Cannot go to US now: VajpayeePrime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has conveyed to US President Bill Clinton his inability to visit Washington for the present in view of the ongoing Kargil conflict. Clinton, who had rung up Vajpayee, had invited the prime minister to visit the United States. ''The prime minister felt the time was not convenient at this stage for such a visit,'' an external affairs ministry spokesman told the media yesterday. During the ten-minute conversation, Clinton briefed Vajpayee about his talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief on the Kargil issue and Sharief's unscheduled visit to Washington. UNI
