IAF uses Mirage 2000 to drop bombsThe Indian Air Force planes 'struck at their targets' this morning as the operations against Pakistani army regulars and mercenaries in the Kargil sector continued in 'a steady manner'. Air attacks were carried out in the Drass and Batalik sectors this morning. The Mirage 2000 fighter planes, which were till now being used only for reconnaissance and jamming Pakistani radars, were now being used to drop weapons, IAF sources said today. Islamabad's claims that Indian planes were violating Pakistani airspace and dropping bombs on their territory were denied. ''The Indian operations were well south of the Line of Control,'' defence sources said. The air strikes this morning were followed by ground operations as the troops made attempts to regain the positions held by the intruders. UNI
