Vivekananda's letters to Khetri king discovered

E-Mail this report to a friend

Two valuable letters written by Swami Vivekananda to the then Raja of Khetri in Rajasthan were recently discovered by government officials.

The letters and a turban which Swami Vivekananda used during that period would be handed over to the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, according to the authorities of the mission.

The secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Swami Prabhanandji, said, ''I have talked over the phone to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, regarding this and he has assured to do his best to hand over the letters to the mission.''

The general secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Mission has already written a letter to the Rajasthan government requesting that the 'precious' letters be handed over to them.

The turban, however, is likely to be handed over to the mission by relatives of the Raja of Khetri.
