Eight AP Congress legislators hospitalisedSyed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad Seven more fasting legislators were hospitalised on Monday, even as 70 legislators belonging to the Congress and Left parties continued their fast-unto-death for the fourth consecutive day. Congress activists staged rasta roko at some places in Hyderabad and damaged two Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation buses. City Police Commissioner S R Sukumara, in a statement on Monday evening, said that the condition of the legislators, who were hospitalised, was stable. Those shifted to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences during the day are M Hanumantha Rao (Mangalagiri), B Srinivasa Reddy (Ongole), S Pitchi Reddy (Darsi), Bomma Venkateshwar (Indurthi), R Papa Rao (Sircilla), J C Diwakar Reddy (Tadipatri) and G Venkata Reddy (Duggirala). On Saturday, Juvvadi Ratnakar Rao (Buggaram) had been admitted to the NIMS after his condition deteriorated. Doctors are monitoring the condition of the fasting legislators. Ambulances have been kept on stand-by, Sukumara added. The city police said that about 150 Congress activists damaged two RTC buses and staged rasta roko at Himayatnagar, Bashirbagh, Liberty crossroads and in front of the Old Member of Legislative Assembly quarters. Over 200 activists belonging to nine Left parties also staged a dharna near Gunfoundry and went in a procession to the Old MLA quarters. EARLIER REPORT
