No Pak pull back, says Fernandes: PTI

Defence Minister George Fernandes Tuesday said Pakistan had not pulled back its troops from the border despite its announcement in this regard, even as he blamed Islamabad of continuing to help and train terrorists to create instability in India.

As per reports from army authorities, the Pakistani army has not been pulled back from the border after declaration of ceasefire in Kashmir, Fernandes told reporters in Ratlam.

Pakistan had announced to withdraw some of its troops in some areas along the Line of Control recently.

"But there is no firing from Pakistani side after its declaration that it had moved its troops back from the border," Fernandes said.

He said Pakistan continued to help and train terrorists in a bid to create instability in India.

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen were the two main Pak-based terrorist groups active in India, he added.

Fernandes said the militants were "trying to internationalise the (Kashmir) issue and they do not want any agreement with India and Pakistan on it," he said.
