Tamil Nadu govt to send emissary to meet Veerappan

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Tamil Nadu government will send an emissary within 'one or two days' to secure the release of actor Rajkumar and three others, who were kidnapped by sandalwood smuggler Veerappan yesterday.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said the decision to send an emissary, as demanded by Veerappan, was taken after a nearly 90 minute meeting with his Karnataka counterpart S M Krishna in Madras.

Krishna told reporters after his meeting with Karunanidhi that the brigand had, in the audio cassette sent to him, asked that an emissary be sent to 'discuss some of the problems he (Veerappan) is facing'.
