Mr Clinton, don't come to India!

E-Mail this report to a friend

Name: Saumya
Email: saumyap@yahoo.com
Message: Clinton's visit will give impetus to the military regime as an acceptance of their rule which would encourage them to step up the proxy war further. For once we should give both Mr Clinton and Mr Sharief the boot.

Name: Richa Arora
Email: richa-arora@hotmail.com
Message: Indians hate to love Clinton, we can't help it; and love is possessive. We would love it if Clinton snubs Pak but that is not happening

Message: I don't think the decision to visit Pakistan during the subcontinent tour by Bill Clinton was sort of in a "suspense". It was yet another "keep guessing" trick of the Americans.

Everybody among the Indian community knew (in India/abroad) that the visit to Pakistan will be made, no matter what. These Americans have never cared for the voice of Indians, maybe the longstanding firm friendship with Russia has to do something to it. The Russians have always stood firm with the Indians and now the French.

We as Indians should start acting firm and ask the Americans to say what is in our interest with regards to Kashmir and having a nuclear deterrent, just like the Chinese did on the issue of Tibet and Tiananmen Square.

The Government of India should be firm and talk tough if the issue of Kashmir is even raised by the Prez of US. If possible a stern warning should be conveyed to Bill Clinton himself to pass on the message to Mushraff to stop the proxy war in Kashmir or else his own country will disintegrate .

Message: It will not make any difference, as USA has a liking for Pak.

Name: Umesh Joglekar

Message: I think he should not come to India at all. We should invite a new president, since the presidential elections are due. Mr Clinton is famous for his anti-India stand. He always favours China and Pakistan. We should tell him "Don't come to India". That's all

Name: Rahul
Email: rahuldev2000@yahoo.com
Message: I don't think it will, as he is also visiting Pakistan! That's the real spirit of any major player.

Message: No, it is not a setback for India. It is a timely reminder that Americans are not here to play Solomon but to uphold their interests. We should do the same by not signing the CTBT and refuse to accept any American mediation in Kashmir. Further, it should not have any effect on futuristic bilateral issues like IT, trade etc. These are the more important issues for our relation with America.

Message: I don't understand why we Indians have to make such a big issue of fighting over a lame duck like Clinton . We have great leaders like Atal Bihari and Advani to guide our country. Also, Pakistan-related issues have to be solved by India itself without resorting to help from countries like USA who play double politics to get through their way. Come on Indians, wake up! We cannot make a big issue of something so unimportant.

Message: An Open Letter to Bill Clinton: Get out, Hitler without moustache!

Undear President of the United States of America,

Though we, as human beings, would not like to interact with a vulture and a man-eater like you, we are forced to write this open letter to you since you are descending down on us. We know you are coming here in search of newer areas for exploitation and oppression. As a tiger that tasted human blood, you are setting your foot on Indian soil to recruit new brokers and touts from among our rulers to help you fleece more Indian blood. As a profit-seeking businessperson, you want to see the sources of your income with your own eyes and this visit is intended for that. As an absentee landlord who wants to pay an occasional visit to guide his henchmen, you are now coming to India to direct Vajpayees and Chandrababu Naidus. May that be your purpose of visiting this great land and our own political establishment's red carpet welcome to secure the crumbs that you throw. But we, the toiling masses of this land, would not allow the evil designs of yours and your Indian comprador classes come true. We will certainly put a full stop to your imperialist plunder of our resources and your search for our vast markets.

We want to take this opportunity to make public the people's charge sheet about your crimes against humanity. We have all the toiling masses of Latin America, Africa and Asia, as well as the downtrodden and oppressed in your own countries, with us in pronouncing this charge sheet. A time will come when you, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organisation, the gluttonous Multinational Corporations and the regressive forces that you represent, have to stand in the dock to answer to these charges.

Message: Clinton should learn many things before he flies around the world giving a 5,000-year old civilisation advice. The only problem is we have a government with a major inferiority complex currently in place. Whereas they make a lot of noise about Hindu pride et al they are actually falling over backwards to facilitate the visit of the self-confessed lying, cheating FIRST CITIZEN of the USA.

Name: Sobers
Email: sobers@consultant.com
Message: I think it is of no use now. We will have to wait for the new admn to take some action to improve Indo-US ties. This admn has been too Sino-centric.

Name: Vivek D Abhyankar
Email: vivek_abhyankar@hotmail.com
Message: It is a failure of the Indian diplomacy and a success of the American pressure maintenance technique.

Name: K R Sudhir
Email: sudhir_kr@rediffmail.com
Message: A hearty welcome to President Clinton. His visit to India will boost the relations b/w both the countries on all fronts. One more thing to add: don't go to Pak, it is a terrorist state.

Name: Rahul Roy
Email: roy_rahul@yahoo.com
Message: Clinton's Pakistan stopover reflects the American policy of double standard towards foreign matters. Vajpayee, on the other hand, is throwing a welcome to these people. No doubt that they are a superpower, but then what about the BJP's swadeshi fundamentals? These politician are garbage, really stupid. If Vajpayee has the guts, then he should not discuss the Kashmir and the CTBT/NPT issues with Clinton.
