Mirdha admits to shortcomings in poll process: PTI

"There have been many complaints and they could well be true," Mirdha, the chief of the Congress Election Committee, told Star News, adding that it was too late to make amends now.

Admitting that there were serious shortcomings in the Congress party's first intra-party elections, he said, "The problems have cropped up because we have not gone by rules."

Mirdha has been accused of turning a blind eye to complaints that the list of Congress delegates had been doctored.

Polling for the party elections, contested by Sonia Gandhi and Jitendra Prasada is scheduled for Sunday and the results are expected to be announced on November 15.
