Former Goa CM selected for international award

Former Goa chief minister and noted surgeon Dr Wilfred D'Souza has been selected for an award by the Chicago-based International College of Surgeons.

The award would be presented to D'Souza at the biennial congress of the college at Singapore on October 10, Dr Narendra Pandya, president of ICS's Indian unit, said in a release in Panjim on Wednesday.

Talking to reporters, D'Souza said he would leave for Singapore on October 8 to receive the prestigious award.
