Karnam Malleswari gifted a Santro

India's lone medal winner in the Sydney Olympics Karnam Malleswari was presented with a Santro car by Hyundai Motor India Limited at a function in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.

The car keys were handed over to Malleswari by Andhra Pradesh Sports Minister T Sitaram, who also hailed from Malleswari's home town of Amudalavalsa village in Srikakulam district in AP.

Managing Director of HMIL Y S Kim said their company had been fostering and encouraging youth and sports as a social responsibility.

The car was a token of appreciation for Malleswari's medal winning effort at the Sydney Olympics, he added.
