Bombay-based gangster held in AP

Bombay-based gangster, Raju Gangaram alias Raju Bhaiyya was arrested by the police in Karimnagar district in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday morning.

The Karimnagar police have informed their Bombay counterparts about the arrest.

Bhaiyya, said to be on the hit-list of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, was arrested at Metpalli town, following a tip-off. He was wanted in many cases, including a couple of murders in Bombay, besides two attempted murders in Karimnagar and Adilabad districts. The Bombay police had issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

A native of Koratla in Karimnagar district, Bhaiyya was said to have moved to Bombay 25 years ago. He has been living there ever since. He operated mainly in Dadar and Worli. He frequently visited his native place in the state.
