Bombay police team to
go to Bangkok: PTI

A special Bombay police team will leave for Bangkok this week in connection with an attack on Vijay Daman alias gangster Chhota Rajan there on September 15.

According to police sources on Friday, the four-member team will be led by a police officer of the rank of assistant commissioner of police.

Refusing to reveal the exact nature of the 'task' to be undertaken by the police, the sources said that the team was being deployed at the initiative of the Bombay police, who were determined to pin down the gangster.

Daman and two aides were injured and his associate Rohit Verma was killed after seven men of the Chhota Shakeel gang barged into their apartment and attacked them.

The Malaysian-based kingpin had allegedly stirred a hornet's nest after he tried to eliminate some members of the rival gang earlier. The constant skirmishes between Rajan and Shakeel, his rival, had led to nearly 100 deaths of gangsters in the city in the past few years.
