The condition of four others, who sustained burn injuries in Monday's fire, was reported to be stable, they said.
Twenty five inmates of the asylum, including 11 women, who were illegally chained to their beds, were burnt alive in the devastating fire which swept through the thatched hostel housing them near the Erwadi dargah (shrine).
Sixteen of the total 46 hostel inmates survived the mishap.
Three inmates, who were not chained, as is the normal practice in the asylum, managed to escape.
